From the lineup

They caught their wave. You can too.

I had never surfed before. By day two with Farsan I was riding green waves all the way to the beach. The coconut afterwards was the perfect ending.

Sophie

🇩🇪 First time surfer

I kept falling on my pop-up all morning. Farsan watched, adjusted my hand placement once, and I was standing. That simple.

Marcus

🇬🇧 Intermediate

My biggest fear was the ocean. By the end of the session I was paddling out on my own and actually enjoying it.

Priya

🇮🇳 First time surfer

He picked the right wave for me every single time. I stopped second-guessing and just trusted him. Rode it all the way in.

Three days, three sessions. On the last one I finally linked a bottom turn. I did not expect that to happen this trip.

The Experience

Not just a lesson.
A feeling.

Farsan meets you in the water — not on a clipboard. He reads the ocean, calls your sets, and walks you through every movement until the wave clicks. White water turns to green. Green turns to grins.

"Just one more."

— Farsan, watching the horizon for your next set

About Farsan

I'm originally from Arugam Bay — one of the best surf destinations in Asia — and started surfing at 12. After 8 years in the water, I've spent the last 4 coaching at Kabalana Beach in Ahangama. I love seeing new people catch their first green wave, and I hope to see you out there soon.

Yes. Kabalana Beach features a forgiving sand bottom that minimizes injury risk, and it is completely separated from advanced reef breaks. Farsan specializes in teaching absolute beginners their first pop-up safely in the white water.

Marshmallows is the ideal spot for surfers progressing to unbroken green waves. This mellow reef break has a 2-meter deep reef bottom, offering long 50–150m left and right rides. It's perfect for practicing bottom turns and building confidence on real waves.

Every session includes a fiberglass or soft-top surfboard matched to your ability, a high-quality UV-protective rash guard (shirt), and a traditional king coconut after your session. Board, rash guard, and coconut — all in one 9,500 LKR price.

The quickest way to book is via WhatsApp. Just tap the 'Book Now' button and send a message. Farsan typically replies within minutes. There is no online payment — you pay cash on the day of your lesson.

Sessions run approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on conditions and your energy. Farsan is flexible — he's known for staying in the water until you get that last perfect wave.

The south coast of Sri Lanka (Ahangama, Kabalana) has two surf seasons. The main season runs from November to April when the Indian Ocean swells light up the breaks. The off-season (May–October) brings the south-west monsoon, which can still produce good waves on select spots like The Rock.

The first time you ride a green wave to shore, everything else quiets down.

That's what Farsan gives you. One session. One moment. Yours to keep.
